Becca is passionate about youth ministry, and has worked for several churches.

She began working in youth ministry in Burlington Baptist Church, Ipswich, in an internship year in the church that she grew up in.

She then moved to work for a church in Stoke-on-Trent as a Student Youth Worker, while she obtained a BA Hons degree in 'Youth and Community Work with Applied Theology' at Midlands CYM, St. John's Nottingham.

From Stoke-on-Trent she moved on to work as a Youth Minister in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire.

During her time as a Youth Minister in Chorleywood, Becca wrote a book about prayer for teenagers entitled Be Live Pray, published by Scripture Union, and began building a profile as a writer, speaker and youth ministry trainer in the wider field of youth ministry.

Becca writes a monthly column in Youth and Children's Work Magazine and has contributed to other books and publications in the field.

Research interests

Research interests

Following her work as a Youth Minister, Becca moved up to Durham where she got an ESRC scholarship to undertake a Masters in 'Research Methods (Social Policy)', while working for a local church as the Youth and Children's Coordinator, and a PhD researching 'Intergenerational Dialogue in Church Communities', which she is still writing up part-time.

Her hope is that through encouraging the church to listen to young people's voices and enable them to meaningfully participate in the running of church, that churches may better regenerate, and discover facets to their faith and new ministries in this era where young people are increasingly found outside of church.
