Parking
Car parking is very restricted at Ridley Hall so we would recommend wherever possible using Cambridge's excellent Park & Ride service. There are a number of Park & Rides around the city's perimeter, but the most convenient for Ridley is the Madingley Road Park & Ride. See our Getting here page for more details.
If you will be bringing your car to Ridley, please check below for guidance on parking availability, and download the college grounds map to view a layout of the parking zones, which are marked for specific users.

General visitors
If you are coming to Ridley to meet with a member of the college you are advised to bring spare cash with you in the event that the car park is full and you need to pay for parking on the roads around the college. (Current charges are 50p per half an hour, with a maximum stay of 4 hours; the meters take 10p coins through to £2 coins, but no change is given.)
If you find a space in college, please report to Reception to get a temporary parking permit to display in your dashboard for the during of your visit.
Visiting teachers and speakers
If the purpose of your visit is to teach a class or give a supervision, please call Reception before the day of your visit and we will be pleased to reserve you a parking space.
Sabbatical guests
If you are coming to Ridley for a sabbatical and will be bringing a car, please be aware that parking at Ridley on a day-to-day basis is in significant demand and not guaranteed throughout your stay - you are advised to bring enough spare change to pay for parking on the road outside the college when space isn't available in the college car park. (Current charges are 50p per half an hour, with a maximum stay of 4 hours; the meters take 10p coins through to £2 coins, but no change is given.)
We will however reserve you a place for your arrival - please let us know in advance if you are planning on coming by car.
Conference and event delegates
Parking advice and availability is dependent on the size, timing and duration of the event - please enquire in advance with the administration staff of the conference or event you are due to attend.
Students
Parking spaces within the zones marked for students are available on a first-come first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed. We ask students who are resident outside of college wherever possible to walk or cycle into college. At the beginning of each academic year all students who would like permission to park in the college are given a parking permit, which allows you to park in college on specified days as required, but does not guarantee a space.
Disabled parking
There is one specifically designated disabled parking space in Ridley's car park. If you are planning to visit Ridley Hall and either you or one of your passengers has mobility needs, please phone Reception in advance so that we can reserve this or another suitable available space for you as required.
If you are a prospective student with mobility issues, we will discuss your needs with you before your arrival at College. For more information on disability issues in relation to the college grounds, see our Access page.
