Courses: Foundation Degree Award in Christian Theology - FdA (formerly DipHE)

The Cambridge Theological Federation is converting the first two years of the BA in Christian Theology course into a Foundation degree award (FdA). This is designed both for non-graduates and for graduates who undertake a further course which is vocational in nature.

As a result, those coming to Ridley in September 2009 who are enrolled for the 2 year DipHE programme of the degree course, will now, on successful completion after two years' study, be awarded a Foundation Degree award (FdA). This is effectively the old DipHE award with some minor changes, and like the DipHE can be topped up to an Honours BA degree on the completion of further modules.

Who is it for?

The Foundation Degree Award (FdA) in Christian Theology is taken by a variety of students. It is the obvious choice for ordinands who are over 30 and who are funded by their sponsoring churches to study in the Federation for two years. Independent students who wish to do a two-year theological course also study for the Award. If they wish to undertake a further year's study, they can progress to the BA in Christian Theology. Those who have completed the equivalent of the Certificate elsewhere (one year of theological education) should be able to enter at a second year level and complete the Award in one year.

Who awards it?

The Award is awarded by Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).

Entry requirements

Many students who do these courses have degrees in other subjects, but they may also be successfully undertaken by students without a degree or A levels. When we consider your application we look for evidence of your ability to benefit from and meet the demands of the course.

Length of study

The Award comprises two years of full-time study. It may also be taken part-time over four years or longer.

Who teaches it?

The Award offer a rich variety of subjects taught by a wide range of teachers. Many subjects are team-taught by a group of teachers from across the Federation, but some draw on the talents of people with expertise from outside the Federation.

Cost
