Applying to Ridley: Map and Directions
Planning your journey to Ridley
Transport Direct is Britain's free online journey planning and travel information service. Its door-to-door planner shows the various ways of making any journey within Great Britain - by either car or public transport. It also allows you to compare your CO2 emissions for both car and public transport for your specific journey. Parking is restricted at the college, so we do encourage you to use public transport or the Park & Ride scheme wherever possible. Below are more details of the options available.

Travelling by car
Car parking is very restricted at Ridley Hall so we would recommend wherever possible using Cambridge's excellent Park & Ride service. There are a number of Park & Rides around the city's perimeter, but the most convenient for Ridley is the Madingley Road Park & Ride.
Using the Madingley Road Park & Ride
To get driving or public transport directions from your location to the Madingley Road Park & Ride, type your postcode and cmbdagpt (the shortcut code for Madingley Park & Ride) into the Door-to-Door planner at Travel Direct. Once at the Park & Ride, get on the Uni4 bus (Monday to Friday) which runs every 10 minutes and take it to the Silver Street stop, just a couple of minutes' walk from the College. The City4 bus service runs every 20 minutes and is a good option for Saturdays - again, get off the bus at Silver Street.
Travelling from overseas
The main carriers operate out of London Stansted, which has direct and frequent train and coach connections to Cambridge. The airport is about 30 minutes' drive from Cambridge city. If you are landing at Heathrow airport, we would recommend using the National Express coaches either to the Parkside stop in the city centre (see Completing your journey by taxi, above) or (normally with one coach change) to the Cambridge Madingley Road Park & Ride (see Using the Madingley Road Park & Ride, above). Travelling from Gatwick Airport is generally quicker by train via London. See Travelling by train, above.
