Ridley People: Our Mission Partners
At Ridley, we are delighted to be able to support a number of Mission Partners throughout the world, both financially and in prayer. Money is raised at a weekly tea, and by eating soup, rather than something more substantial, on Friday lunchtimes. It is our privilege also to pray regularly for each of our partners. If you would like to pray with us and give to our Mission Fund, please send a cheque (marked 'mission') made payable to 'Ridley Hall Common Room' to Ridley Hall Common Room, Ridley Hall, Ridley Hall Rd, Cambridge CB3 9HG. Details of some of our current partners are found below.

Bob & Jane Hurley: Tanzania
Bob, Jane and their children have recently gone out to Morogoro, Tanzania, where Bob will teach at the Bible College, training pastors, and joining them, in evangelism and church planting. Jane has a heart especially for young women and mothers, and will be working to reach out to them. This is an area where many villages remain untouched by the Gospel.
Bob’s book, ‘Living Outside the Box’, gives a flavour of his bold and faith-filled ministry, recounting how God used him in extraordinary ways in the growth of a church in Peckham.
Points for Prayer:
- That Bob and Jane would quickly learn to communicate effectively in Swahili
- For good relationships to be built quickly at the Bible College, and with local pastors
- For opportunities for Jane to develop her women’s ministry
- For boldness in evangelism, and an ability to communicate the Gospel to those who have never heard of Jesus
- For wisdom in church planting
- For continued growth in the Tanzanian church

Bill & Irene Manley: Mongolia
Bill and Irene have spent over 6 years in Mongolia.
They first worked for ‘Joint Christian Services’, which oversees many social projects and partners with young churches.
In 2007, they set up ‘Mary Martha Mongolia Ltd.’, to do ‘business as mission’ as a bridge or good middleman for artisans across Mongolia. They bring Mongolian hand crafted gifts to the local and export market.

This venture aims to:
- provide a way of contact with non-Christians through the business activities
- have Christians and non-Christians working together
- witness to others, including government, by demonstrating ethical business principles
Bill and Irene describe working in Mongolia as ‘like living in the Book of Acts’.
Points for Prayer & Praise
- Praise for the work done to get the website up and running
- Prayer for the expansion of their shop in Ulaanbaatar and expansion of their export business.
- Praise for the continued establishment of Mary Martha as a sustainable, profitable business – 2007 and now 2008 are going to show small profits.
- Praise for the ability to employ an ever greater number of local people (currently c.45)
- Prayer for patience to deal with the complex bureaucracy in Mongolia
- Praise for the support received from tax auditors and inspectors
- Prayer for Bill and Irene’s time out of Mongolia (Nov 2008) during which time they will visit churches in Bradford, York and Bristol promoting Mary & Martha and holding product sales
- Praise for opportunities to witness to business partners which occur every day
- Prayer for continued dynamic church growth in Mongolia
- Praise for Bill and Irene's new Lost Sheep Ministries venture which has received funding from O2H in the UK
