New Staff Appointment

We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Dr Michael Volland as Director of Context-based Training. His responsibilities will span the training of all Ridley ordinands and iCYM students, as well as the teaching of other Federation students. He will also be working with dioceses and partner agencies in the development of our contextual training. He will move to Cambridge with his family at the end of August.

 

Michael VollandMichael trained for ordained ministry at Ridley Hall (2004-06). He undertook his doctoral studies at the Department of Theology and Religion at Durham University and is engaged in postdoctoral research in the area of missional entrepreneurship. He has an MA in Youth Ministry and Theological Education from Kings College London. His first degree was in Fine Art.

He is married to Rachel and they have three children. He enjoys surfing and has been a member of Christian Surfers UK for over twenty years.

Michael has published a number of books, chapters and articles, including: The Minister as Entrepreneur (SPCK, 2015), Fresh: An Introduction to Fresh Expressions and Pioneer Ministry (SCM Press, 2012), Through the Pilgrim Door (Survivor, 2009), God on the Beach (Survivor, 2005).
