Moule Memorial Lecture - Book Now

This year’s annual Moule Lecture will be given on Wednesday 7th June by Dr Paula Gooder on the subject ‘Body Matters: Body, Soul and Spirit in the Letters of Paul’.

Venue

This year "Moule Day", as it has come to be known, will be held at Ridley Hall and will begin with music and refreshments from 11am.

About the speaker

The author of a number of books on the Scriptures and spirituality, including most recently Body: Biblical Spirituality for the Whole Person (SPCK, 2016), Paula works full time as the Theologian in Residence for the Bible Society. Previously she taught ministerial formation for twelve years in Oxford and Birmingham before spending eight years travelling the country as a speaker and writer in biblical studies. She remains a popular speaker, presenting at Greenbelt, Spring Harvest and in online videos, and is a Six Preacher at Canterbury Cathedral. Paula served as a lay member of the General Synod of the Church of England for ten years and is passionate about ecumenism.

Programme for the day

11am onwards Arrival, tea & coffee, music & fellowship
12.30pm Buffet lunch (optional - £5 extra)
1.45pm Meet the new Principal! Hear from the Revd Dr Michael Volland on his background and vision for Ridley
2.30pm "Body Matters: Body, Soul and Spirit in the Letters of Paul" by Dr Paula Gooder
3.45pm Tea & biscuits and fellowship
4.15pm onwards Departure
4.30pm until 5pm Evening Prayer (Optional)

Booking fee

In order to help us cover costs, there will be an admission charge of £15 (which includes a buffet lunch). If you do not need lunch, admission charge without lunch is £10 per person.

Further information

Unfortunately, we are unable to extend an invitation to children, and there is no parking available in the college grounds apart from a few spaces for those persons with mobility needs (please indicate if you have mobility needs when you book). Cars may be left at one of the Park and Rides around the city (see our visitors' page for details).
