Ridley Lay Ministry is an exciting new venture for Ridley Hall.
Building on 20 years' experience of training youth, children and families workers under the auspices of CYM, Ridley Lay Ministry has broadened this offer to meet the need of today’s church for a range of ministerial specialisms.
At the heart of our approach is solid theological teaching, an ongoing placement within an existing ministry team, and the space to apply learning and reflect on practice with highly experienced experts from the field.
Turning traditional teaching on its head, Ridley Lay Ministry provides theological education that responds to the needs of the church today. Rather than taking the student out of the church to train them for the church, Ridley Lay Ministry provides a solid theological education together and alongside the opportunity to continually apply this in ongoing ministerial contexts (placements).
As well as gaining an expertise in the specific ministerial specialism that the student is engaged in – whether this is youth ministry, children and family’s ministry, pioneer ministry or other – this deep transformative learning experience becomes the bedrock for sustainable life-long ministry that is tested in real life situations to bring about the purposes of God.
