Hidden Ridley Pt 2: Olympic Prisoner
In its "Hidden Ridley" series, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire casts the spotlight on Noel Duckworth - Olympic rower and Ridley alumnus.
The second of the series, which is broadcast every Sunday (the series started on August 11th) and repeated on Monday afternoons, follows the story of Noel Duckworth, who coxed the British rowing boat in the Berlin Olympics presided over by Adolf Hitler. When war broke out he went out to the Far East as Chaplain of the Cambridgeshire Regiment, when he ended up as prisoner on the Burma railway. Ridley's Development Officer Elaine Thornton tells the story.
Each episode is available online for seven days following its airing on Sunday Breakfast with Suzie Roberts.
