Jude Davis becomes Britain's youngest priest
"Hey, Jude has become Britain's youngest Church of England priest aged just 24" - the newspaper headline pun was inevitable, perhaps! Jude Davis, who is serving in the parish of Doncaster Minister, in Yorkshire, is a wonderful example of the growing trend towards young vocations, highlighted recently on the Ridley website.
In an extensive article on its website the Daily Mail interviews Jude, and explains the demanding interview process involved in being selected to become a member of the clergy in the Church of England.
"It's a very rigorous selection process" says Jude, " - you have to go through a series of interviews with different people, both locally and nationally".
"Although young priests have less life experience, it's good to be young in the job as you can relate to younger people.
You do need people who enter the faith at the age of 40, but it's good to have a mixture of both."
