The Revd Cathy Blair


Cathy is vicar of St Mary’s and St John’s Walton on Thames. Previously, she ministered in a culturally diverse parish in Woking, and on an estate. She has been Diocesan Clergy Chair in Guildford Diocese and has served on Bishop’s Council for eight years. She enjoyed the strategic leadership opportunities of being Area Dean of Woking for six years.

A qualified Architect, she was called to a career in missions, studying at All Nations Bible College and serving for the longest tour in South Africa. She was a Trustee of Crosslinks for five years. Ordained in 2002, she studied at St John’s Nottingham and has an MA In theology of Mission and Ministry.

Cathy is a creative thinker and she specialises in shaping Christian leadership for ordained and lay people and ministry among children and youth. She is passionate about being part of God’s mission in the world.

She has contributed to the CPAS Arrow Leadership programme, the Leading Women programme, has been an IME tutor, was a founding trustee of MASCOT, a local community programme, has been a governor of five schools and is on General Synod.

She enjoys walking, gardening and has recently taken up golf. She is married to Jonny, who is also ordained, with whom she shares ministry. They have three adult children.
