The Venerable Hugh K McCurdy
Hugh was the Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech for seventeen years. Recently he has taken on a part time role supporting the Bishops of Ely’s staff team to deliver the Diocesan strategy (Living Ely 2025) and overseeing the SDF funded project focusing on market towns. He was formerly the Vicar of St Andrew’s, Histon and Priest in Charge of St Andrew’s, Impington. He therefore has experience of suburban ministry and more recently as archdeacon rural ministry. He is passionate about growing churches, community engagement and discipleship.
He is married to Ruth and has three grown up children. Hugh enjoys cycling and can often be seen around the Fens on his bike. He grows vegetables (badly) and enjoys visiting art galleries and good theatre.
He is Trustee of a number of local organisations including Cambridgeshire ACRE, as well as being President of the Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind.
