Explore your calling

Are you passionate about ministry, whether at work, at the school gate, in the community, on the sports field or in a church? Ready to explore your calling more deeply and be better equipped for God’s call?

Most lay ministry students at our Cambridge campus specialise in youth ministry, children's and family ministry, lay pioneer or sports ministry. The majority of graduates go on to leadership roles within the Church, whether that's within mission, evangelism, ministry or community engagement.

More about Ridley Lay Ministry:

Study for a qualification while learning in your ministry context

Study at Cambridge for six block teaching weeks spread out through the year, and spend the remainder of your time applying your learning and developing your skills in a ministry team. Our approach combines in-depth study taught by leading practitioners and academics in your specialism with theological reflection – a safe space where you can learn alongside peers and wrestle with the realities of putting your learning into practice.

Discover Ridley Hall

Positioned in the centre of the beautiful city of Cambridge, Ridley is a vibrant and welcoming community, made up of women and men of all ages, many of whom are training for ordination, while others are senior Christian leaders and scholars visiting from around the world.

Lay ministry students are encouraged to get to know the wider community, and there are multiple opportunities – from chatting over lunch to teaming up on the college lawn for Ridley Rules Croquet!

Current arrangements

Like other colleges, we are currently operating remotely – but be assured we are running at full strength and taking applications now for this September. Our teaching weeks will be held online until it’s safe for us to return to gathering in Cambridge, and many of our students are still working in their ministry contexts, but in new and creative ways.
