Urban youth and children's ministry with XLP

XLP stands (‘The eXceL Project’) is a registered charity based in London which is at the cutting edge of urban youth work in the UK, working to create positive futures for young people. Our partnership with XLP gives two opportunities for training and formation in children’s and family ministry and youth ministry: degree-level study and the Experience gap year.

Degree-level study

Ridley Hall works in partnership with XLP to provide degree-level training and formation for individuals engaged in XLP’s innovative projects with children, families and youth in urban settings across North and South London.

Students based at XLP have the opportunity to work within nationally recognised projects alongside a team of highly experienced practitioners. A number of students combine their work with in XLP’s many projects with ministry at a local church.

Experience gap year

Ridley London works in partnership with XLP to provide training and formation for those engaged in the XLP Experience gap year.

Students undertaking XLP’s Experience year join Ridley London for six Mondays between January and March to undertake a taster module in Theology, Ministry and Mission.

For those interested in further study this can be used as an access course onto degree-level training while for others this complements training provided by XLP in children’s and youth work.
