Learning through Theological Reflection
Professional reflective practice, theological reflection and professional ministerial practice are all terms used to describe the activity where students bring together their studies and ministerial experience with the aim of deepening learning and developing practice.
Engagement in this type of reflection is both transformative and key in the development of practice wisdom that goes beyond skills and personality.

How theological reflection is encouraged
Reflection takes place in several spaces, including: assignments, ministerial reflection groups, worship and everyday interactions with staff and peers.
Assignments
Each module assignment has at least two components, one of which will require the student to apply their learning to their context.
Ministerial Reflection Groups
Ministerial reflection groups provide a supportive space where students can reflect on their practice with peers and experienced practitioners.
Community engagement
Daily worship enables us to bring all of life into God's presence, while engagement with peers and staff creates a supportive learning community for all.
Support provided
The course is designed to support student's development of this key skill as a tool for ongoing ministerial development beyond the end of a student's studies.
Engagement in reflection during the course and the development of reflective skills that can be utilised beyond the course, are key elements in a student's ability to engage in ministry for the long term.
