Training for Lay Ministry at Ridley

"The impact that the course has had on my practice has been massive." Jess Beaumont, student

Ridley Hall offers courses for students from all church traditions to explore and develop their calling in a range of ministries both inside and outside the church.

You can chose to study in Cambridge where you will combine placement experience with module teaching delivered across six weeks of the year, or you can undertake the first year of the degree (Cert HE) through our London teaching centre delivered one day a week during term time.

Please note: due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 all module teaching for 2020/21 will be delivered online. We are committed to maintaining the excellence of engagement and depth of support all students have come to expect from studying at Ridley Hall.

Most students studying at our Cambridge campus undertake the full BA while specialising in youth ministry, children's and family ministry, lay pioneer or sports ministry. Students integrate their studies with a ministerial placement of approximately 16 hours a week across the three years. Graduates go into leadership roles within the church, para-church or mission organisations; pioneer new communities or start-up new ministry organisations.

Students studying the Cert HE through our London teaching centre can be in full-time employment, managing a family, working in the community or engaged in their first church role as an apprentice or other staff member. Whatever your current situation, studying the Cert HE at Ridley London will support you to take the next step in following God’s calling on your life.
