Free public lectures: The Newbigin Summer Institute

The 2019 Lesslie Newbigin Summer Institute is already fully booked, but two of the lectures, by Professor Stephen Bevans (Society of the Divine Word, Chicago) and Professor Christena Cleveland (Duke University), are open to the public.

The theme of the 2019 Institute is "Jesus and Justice: Mission in Christ's Way". Going beyond charity, Lesslie Newbigin wanted to ask deeper questions about why people were poor. He believed that in Jesus Christ the reign of God has drawn near to the world, and that the Spirit would empower his followers to both invite people to accept God's reign (evangelism) as well as to discern faithful action for truth, for justice, and mercy.

With speakers Stephen Bevans, Christena Cleveland, Elaine Storkey, Krish Kandiah and Ash Barker the conference has quickly sold out! However, if you would like to come to one of the two public lectures, book using the links below:
