Ridley announces new sports ministry training

We are delighted to announce that Ridley Hall is partnering with the Church of England's Evangelism and Discipleship Team to provide training in Sports Ministry as part of a new national initiative to resource the church for mission and evangelism through sport and well-being.

The Principal of Ridley Hall, Michael Volland, said, "We are pleased to be providing cutting-edge training in sports ministry as part of this exciting new initiative. At the heart of Ridley's vision is a deep commitment to respond to the ministerial training needs of today's church and our part in this initiative is a response to what we believe the church is asking for. The partnership is also an encouraging recognition of the excellent quality of training and formation being delivered at Ridley Hall by a diligent and gifted team of teaching and support staff."

Robin Barden, Ridley Hall's Director of New Opportunities commented, "This is an exciting opportunity to support the Church of England's initiative in utilising all the benefits of sport and well-being as a vehicle for evangelism and mission throughout the UK. The training at Ridley will combine theological, ministerial, theological reflective practice, and practical learning in sports ministry, to provide students with a solid foundation from which to develop and grow cutting-edge sports ministry in their particular context. We will shortly be announcing additional tutors to complement our existing tutorial team in delivering this new initiative - follow Ridley's social media for announcements!"

The national initiative is the vision of the Church of England's Director of Evangelism and Discipleship, Dave Male, and is supported by a number of partners including various Church of England dioceses and sports ministry organisations from across the UK.
