Modules

Year 1: 3 × 20 Credit Modules

Research and Reflection (1st Term)
This module enables you to explore the task of practical theology as a postgraduate student. You will develop an understanding of research methods and theological frameworks for empirical research in ministerial practice.

Relationships and Emotional Management (2nd Term)
This module is designed to give students a sophisticated lens of exploring the emotional and relational complexity of higher level Christian leadership.

The Church's Work with Children, Young People and Families (3rd Term)
This module gives students a sophisticated grasp on the church's work with children and young people. It will explore the historical roots and development of this work, as well as provide a robust theoretical framework to understand and respond to contemporary issues in this field of ministry.

Year 2: 3 × 20 Credit Modules

Independent Learning Project (1st Term)
This will be your first opportunity to do some independent research on your specialist subject. In your case, you might want to cover something to do with an aspect of theology for young people's mental health, or an interdisciplinary exploration of therapeutic and ministerial practices.

Reflective Practice: Leadership and Collaboration (2nd Term)
This new module is designed to support students for higher level Christian leadership. It will particularly explore approaches to Christian leadership which consider power and facilitation in a time of rapid culture change.

A New Module on Children and Young People's Mental Health (3rd Term)
This innovative module is being developed in order to equip practitioners in leadership roles with a sophisticated understanding of children and young people's mental health. The mental health crisis for young people has become a defining factor in ministry to this generation.
