The founding vision of Ridley Hall is "that the Good News of Jesus Christ be proclaimed to the ends of the earth so that individual lives, communities, and cultures may be transformed by God’s redeeming grace."
Today our passion remains unchanged.
Rooted in the Anglican Evangelical tradition, Ridley Hall prepares transformational leaders for the renewal of the Church in Christ's mission to our fractured world.
By studying at Ridley, you will be formed in biblical wisdom, theological knowledge, and pastoral skill in a community of passionate Christ followers for a lifetime of fruitful service for the glory of God.
Come and visit us! We'd love to meet you and give you a taste of what Ridley is about.
Ridley Hall offers full-time residential, bespoke flexible and part-time, as well as context-based training pathways, to give you the best possible foundation for your future ministry. We also provide training options for ordained pioneers and future theological educators.
Whether you expect to exercise your ordained ministry in a large multi-parish rural benefice or a small urban community, in a bustling city-centre church or a quiet market-town parish, in a fledgling church plant or a mediaeval cathedral, as a school, university, prison, hospital or military chaplain, as an ordained pioneer or a theological educator, you will find that your time at Ridley Hall shapes and sharpens you.

The Common Awards framework offers a diverse and flexible range of both undergraduate and postgraduate awards from the University of Durham.
From its beginnings over 800 years ago, the University of Cambridge has provided a context for formation and training in Christian ministry. Today, working in partnership with the theological colleges and institutes of the Cambridge Theological Federation, the Faculty of Divinity offers a wide range of degrees.
Master of Philosophy in Theology, Religion, and Philosophy of Religion (MPhil, University of Cambridge)
MoreDoctor of Philosophy in Theology and Religious Studies (PhD, University of Cambridge)
MoreBachelor of Arts in Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion (BA Tripos, University of Cambridge)
MoreIn addition to the MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge, our ordinands often study for a range of research degrees from other universities.
Some of our students study towards the Lambeth Degrees. This is an Anglican research programme through which the Archbishop of Canterbury awards postgraduate degrees in Theology at both MPhil and PhD level. These degrees require the production of a thesis which, at MPhil level, makes a useful contribution to knowledge and may have elements that are worthy of publication and, at PhD level, is a work of original scholarship which makes a substantial contribution to the advancement of learning in the academic discipline, field of study or area of professional practice, and which may be publishable.
There are also opportunities to undertake research supervised by staff of the Cambridge Theological Federation through the Anglia Ruskin University.
If you are interested in studying for a research degree as part of your ordination training, please get in touch with us.
